Accessibility

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We do not meet them everywhere yet, and this page says where we fall short.

What we do today

  • A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every public page.
  • A Pause motion button beside the animated characters on our public pages. One press stills every animation on the page.
  • If your device asks for reduced motion, those animations do not play.
  • Narrated page guides show a caption of each sentence as it is spoken.
  • The app comes in 10 language versions, and the Arabic version reads right to left.
  • Learners under 13 use a tap-only interface, where every activity is a named picture.
  • A light theme and a dark theme, switched from the site menu.

Known gaps

  • Some menus and screens are still in English only, whichever language you choose.
  • Some text in the light theme falls below the colour contrast WCAG asks for. We fix these as we find them.
  • We have not had an independent accessibility audit.
